If anyone else out there owns one of these beasts.a little education I've recently gotten: Apparently, there were 6 variants of these machines, all bearing the UCC-305 designation, and distinguishable only by serial number. After much aggravation, I've managed to track down a source for instruction manuals (parts, as available, too, for that matter), a company out in Cali called Arc Products, in San Diego. The woman who handles questions and orders is a little.unique.to deal with, but they seem to be fair, honest folks overall. Apparently, when Linde went under, they bought up as much NOS parts and supplies as they could find. I'm now the proud owner of 2 instruction manuals for my welder (she sent the wrong one the first time, and when I called about it, she sent the correct one for free, and told me to keep the first). So if anyone out there needs info on machines with serial #s containing the letter 'A' or 'B' (example: C-27xAxxx, or C-27xBxxx), let me know, I have 'em. Mine runs well off single phase 240 VAC? Interesting you mention that! I'm not an electronics guy, my exp. With elec in general is running the wires from the panel and hooking them to whatever machine needed the power (and usually to print, no 'thinking' involved.IOW, I'm no engineer, I just do what engineering calls out). All that said, I've been waiting for a goodly amount of time to get this machine running, and it wasn't until I got an owner's manual (just last week), and went over to Archie Cheeda's place yesterday so he could help me design my RPC (thanks again, Arch!), that he noticed in the owner's manual that this is a single-phase machine.
He's graciously offered to come over and verify it really is a single-phase machine before I put power to it, but at this point I think I'm good-to-go without an RPC.
